A SendPulse migration test should compare the complete sending conditions before and after the move: sender identity, authentication, rendered content, tracking and observed mailbox location. Changing the platform alone does not isolate one cause. Preserve a baseline and verify the actual new route before declaring that the migration improved or harmed placement.

Inventory the old route first
Record the old provider, visible From address, Reply-To, DKIM signing domain, envelope identity, relevant link domains and message type. Save representative headers and the final HTML and text alternatives. Keep existing publication or business dates separate from the date of the technical migration.
If you have mailbox observations, retain their recipient coverage and measurement times. If not, describe the old route as unmeasured. A remembered statement that everything used to reach Inbox is not a usable baseline for a quantified before-and-after claim.
Verify the new sender configuration
SendPulse documents authenticated domains and sender-address configuration for its email and SMTP services. Its guidance distinguishes the selected authentication domain from merely entering a visible sender address. Verify that the chosen domain and intended From address match your supported sending configuration.
Use the account-generated DNS values rather than copying illustrative keys from an article. Preserve legitimate records used by other senders, and do not create conflicting SPF policies while adding a service. Confirm the effective configuration with a fresh received message, including its actual signing domain and authentication results.
Check message parity after import
Migration can change more than transport. Review imported templates, merge-field mapping, fallback values, unsubscribe mechanisms and plain-text alternatives. A contact field that was valid in the old platform may not populate under the new field name without deliberate mapping.
Inventory images and links after saving the imported template. A new asset host or tracking redirect is another changed condition. Record these differences rather than claiming that identical visible screenshots establish equivalent outgoing messages. Keep sensitive contact data out of diagnostic fixtures.
Run a bounded comparison
Create LDM tests for the intended sender under the relevant old and new routes when both are available and permitted. Obtain the current recipients for each run and keep provider composition comparable. Submit originals through the actual application or campaign path, using the same safe fixture data and message purpose.
If the old provider is no longer available, do not recreate an imaginary controlled baseline. Test the current SendPulse path and state the limits of any historical comparison. Avoid rolling back or reactivating old infrastructure solely to produce a preferred result without an operational reason.
Retain submission times and available identifiers, and stop temporary recipients from entering continuing campaigns. This article performs no migration or send and assumes no native LDM connection.
Interpret differences as configuration evidence
Record observed folders and times separately from transport events. Keep missing observations out of the confirmed Spam count and investigate sender-side failures. A new DKIM pass can demonstrate that authentication reached the route even when placement does not visibly change.
If placement differs, list all migration changes that may matter: infrastructure, account history, links, template output and audience conditions. A small panel cannot rank providers generally or establish a single cause. Use the change inventory to decide whether a focused content, link or route check is justified.
Frequently asked questions
Does sender-address verification mean migration QA is complete?
No. Check effective authentication, actual message rendering and the intended sending route. Address verification answers only part of the setup question.
Can I copy the old template without reviewing merge fields?
Do not assume field syntax or mapping transfers automatically. Inspect complete and missing-value fixtures in the final generated copies.
Does a higher Inbox share prove SendPulse is better?
It describes the observed test conditions and coverage. Different routes, timing and recipient context prevent a universal provider ranking.
